Corexnat would like to reassure customers, partners, and suppliers following the news reports about the major fire at the Cajiz Industrial Estate in Vélez-Málaga.
According to regional media coverage, the fire started on Friday, 17 April, in one of the industrial units and eventually affected five industrial buildings, four of them completely destroyed. Firefighting operations continued over the following days, and on Sunday, 20 April, the Vélez-Málaga City Council activated an Emergency Plan because the fire had still not been fully extinguished.
In this context, we confirm that Corexnat S.L.’s facilities have not been directly affected by the fire. Our warehouses, safety stock, customer orders in process, and scheduled deliveries remain in proper condition and have suffered no direct damage from the incident.
However, the situation has caused significant indirect disruption to our operations. At present, activity is being affected by incidents involving the electricity and water supply, as well as by restricted access to the industrial estate for transport vehicles. These limitations are consistent with the emergency measures activated in the area and the supervised access controls maintained while safety and extinguishing operations continue.
For this reason, Corexnat is currently unable to operate under normal conditions until the affected utilities are fully restored and safe, clear access for loading vehicles is guaranteed.
Our team is closely monitoring the situation in order to resume normal operations as soon as technical and logistical conditions allow. In the meantime, we remain available to support our customers and partners and to provide updated information regarding any specific issue related to shipments or loading schedules.
We sincerely appreciate the concern shown by so many customers, partners, and contacts over the past hours. We also thank everyone for their understanding regarding a situation entirely beyond our control.
We will continue to provide updates through our usual communication channels as soon as operations return to normal.
